Basketball game raises money for Relay for Life

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office “Stars” and the Key West Police “Finest” faced off in a basketball game Saturday to raise money for Relay for Life. In a game held at the Key West High School auditorium, the two teams had a great time playing ball together in front of an audience of family, friends and supporters. The effort raised a total of $2,800 in ticket sales, food and beverage sales and the sales of raffle tickets. Although the Sheriff’s Office scored 66 to the police department’s 33 points by the end of the game, the real winners of this game are the folks who benefit from the American Cancer Society’s campaign to find a cure for cancer.
