The Florida Department of Law
Enforcement (FDLE) is a State Law Enforcement agency which provides, on
their web site, a place for the citizens of Florida to search for information
about crimes. Because their information is so extensive, and so complete, the
Monroe County Sheriff's Office refers people to their site, rather than try to
duplicate the information here.
Some of the information they offer includes:
- The names of Sexual Predators and Offenders, and the ability to search the
database by name, county, city, or zip code. They also have information on
their site about how a person is designated as a Sexual Predator or Offender.
- Florida's Most Wanted is a list of wanted felons in Florida, along with
their photos and any reward information. The site also offers a database you
may search to find out if a particular person is wanted in Florida, along with
other wanted person information.
- On FDLE's site you may also order a background check of someone at a cost
of $25.00. This report will include Florida criminal history on the person in
question. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office can only provide people with
criminal history information from Monroe County. If you would like this
information, please contact our Records Division at (305)292-7050.
- There is much more information on FDLE's site, including information on
unsolved homicides, missing children, stolen property, Domestic security, and
they offer crime statistics broken down by jurisdiction for all counties and
cities in Florida.
