The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has a ride-a-long program offered to all county residents eighteen years of age or older. The program allows residents to ride with a road patrol deputy and observe the types of activities deputies are called upon to deal with on a day to day basis in the Keys.

The observer does not get involved with any criminal activity or investigation. Reservations should be made at least a week in advance with the station commander of the appropriate substation (Cudjoe, Marathon, Islamorada or Key Largo). A minimum of four hours should be scheduled for the ride-a-long.
